Each Babywearing Essentials mei tai offers the same versatility of other mei tais, with 4 carrying positions: facing in or out, hip, or back, for newborn through toddler. Instead of a hood, this mei tai features a small, softly padded headrest (that can be folded down if desired). The 10 oz. 100% US-milled cotton is brushed for softness and is not preshrunk, so do expect a small amount of shrinkage upon first washing. Made in USA.

The modern take on a traditional Chinese baby carrier with a body panel, shoulder straps, and waist straps still carries the traditional name, "mei tai" (pronounced"may tie"). Mei tais can be used from birth and are ideal for sharing among caregivers
How to wear:
Your Catbird Baby mei tai can be worn on the front facing in or out, on the hip, or back. With just a little practice, the tying methods quickly become second nature. We recommend the back carry for 5-6 months and up.
